At Superior Plus Propane we delight in helping the communities we call home.  Recently, our Newark, NY office, led by market manager, Robert Green, lent a helping hand to a local woman battling cancer.

Newark Office Contributes to Fundraiser for Medical Costs

When Robert Green learned that a woman living nearby his customer service center was fighting stage four clear cell carcinoma, a cancer with a very low survival rate, he immediately agreed to help.  Family of the woman had scheduled a benefit to raise the much-needed funds for her medical care.  They named this benefit, “Jammin’ with Joy,” and asked the community to participate by buying event tickets, donating baskets and other goods to be raffled off, and providing monetary donations.  The event was held at a local fire hall, and attendees were provided dinner and drinks while a band performed live music and willing participants had their faces painted or tried a hand at an axe throwing competition.

Robert Green knew his office needed to help this local woman, and so he graciously made a monetary donation on behalf of Superior Plus Propane to help fund her medical care.  According to the family, the event was a success.

Newark Office Sponsors Local Fair

Donating to “Jammin’ with Joy” isn’t the only way Robert Green and his Newark office give back to their local community.  The office tries to be involved as possible with helping residents of the local towns.  The main event the Newark office sponsors annually is the Wayne County Fair.  This six-day event is visited by over 30,000 people, and its primary focus is to educate visitors about the importance of agriculture.  The fair donates much of the proceeds to local families in need, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, local boy and girl scout troops, and school events.

Superior Plus Propane is highly visible at the Wayne County Fair.  From signs bearing our corporate logo to the same logo on the t-shirts the 3,000 volunteers and sponsors wear during the fair, the presence of Superior Plus Propane is well-known. Each year, the Newark, NY office has a booth at the fair, in which current and potential customers can stop by and learn about the benefits of propane and our company.

Even More Community Involvement by the Newark Office

Another event the Newark, NY office sponsors is the Palmyra VFW Charity Cruise In.  The VFW and the Gone Cruisin’ Car Club host the event which draws approximately 100 special interest cars.  Superior Plus Propane donates all proceeds from food and beverage sales, and the 50/50 drawing to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.   In addition to the charitable donations, Superior Plus Propane has a display at the event, in which Rob Green has the opportunity to discuss our company’s current offers, benefits, and capabilities with potential and existing customers.

In addition to the above-mentioned events and causes, the Newark office recently sponsored Mickey’s Annual Sportsman Dinner.  This event helps fund youth softball and baseball teams, the 4H, and local families in need.  This year the event raised $11,000 for the Palmyra Community Center.

The Newark office truly exemplifies how a large corporation can be an asset to the local community and improve the lives of area residents.
